These same Ocean views and beaches were of course the features that attracted Richard Nixon to call San Clemente home in the early 1970′s at La Casa Pacifica.    Some of the well know  beaches are San Clement State Beach, “T” street beach and the downtown Pier.  San Clemente beaches are very scenic, provide for great surfing and are relatively private especially during the off season.  One of the newer developments of San Clemente to take advantage of the close proximity to the shore line and offer distant Ocean views from the surrounding hills is called Talega.
